User Roles

Purpose

The User Roles screen in Clarity Transform lists role assignments. Each row assigns one role to one user. Clarity uses Windows Integrated Authentication and has no sign-in form of its own, so users are identified by their Windows account.

Clarity has two roles: Administrator and User.

Where to find it

Settings → Identity & Access Management → User Roles

What you see

The screen has no page header. It shows a single grid with one row per user and role assignment.

Columns

  • Role Name: Administrator or User. These are the allowed values listed for this field on the Settings → Field Management → Dropdown Lists screen.
  • User Name: a Windows account, in the form <DOMAIN>\<user>.

Actions

The grid uses the standard Clarity grid toolbar: Create New, Edit, Remove selected, Clear selection, Reload table data, Enable spreadsheet editing, Export CSV and Import CSV. Export is CSV only. Each row has a View Details row action (the eye icon).

Filters

Above the grid are a Search: box and a page-size selector (10, 25, 50 or All entries per page), and each column has its own filter.

The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.

Fields

The create form (Create new entry) and the edit form (Edit entry) have two fields:

  • Role Name: a list with Administrator and User.
  • User Name: text, the Windows account in the form <DOMAIN>\<user>.

The form footer has Cancel and Save.

How to

Give a user a role

  1. Go to Settings → Identity & Access Management → User Roles.
  2. Select the add icon (Create New). The Create new entry form opens.
  3. Select Administrator or User in Role Name.
  4. Enter the user's Windows account in User Name.
  5. Select Save.
  • Credentials: the other screen under Settings → Identity & Access Management.
  • Change Log: its Table filter includes admin_user_roles, the table behind this screen.
  • Dropdown Lists: where the allowed Role Name values are listed.
