Network Mappings¶
Purpose¶
The Clarity Transform Network Mappings screen holds source-to-target network mappings. Each mapping pairs a Source Network Name with a Target Network Name, and Target Cluster Name identifies the cluster the target network belongs to. The screen has no header or subtitle.
Nutanix Move migration plans are created on Migration Jobs from a move group; nothing on this screen generates a plan. Whether plan creation reads these mappings to set each VM's target network is not shown in the UI.
Where to find it¶
Plan → Source To Target → Network Mappings
What you see¶
Columns¶
- Source Cluster Name
- Source Network Name
- Source Vlan Id
- Source Provider Name
- Target Cluster Name
- Target Network Name
- Target Vlan Id
Fields¶
The create form (Create new entry) has these fields, in this order. The edit form (Edit entry) has the same fields, filled in.
- Source Cluster Name: text.
- Source Network Name: text.
- Source Vlan Id: text.
- Source Provider Name: text.
- Target Cluster Name: a list of the target Nutanix clusters.
- Target Network Name: a list, filled from the networks of the selected Target Cluster Name.
- Target Vlan Id: text.
These fields are hidden in the form, so they can't be set there: Id, Target Provider Name, Source Network Uuid, Target Provider Uuid, Target Network Uuid, Source Cluster Uuid, Source Provider Uuid, Target Cluster Uuid and the audit fields.
Actions¶
The grid has the standard toolbar: Create New (the add icon), Edit, Remove selected, Clear selection, Reload table data, Enable spreadsheet editing, Export CSV and Import CSV. Create New opens the Create new entry form, and Edit opens the Edit entry form for the selected row.
The toolbar also has a copy button (the content_copy icon). It has no tooltip and is disabled until a row is selected. It opens Duplicate Network Mapping, a new mapping form filled in from the selected row; change what you need and select Save to add it as a new row. The original mapping is not changed.
Each row has a View Details row action (the eye icon).
Filters¶
- Each column has a filter row, and a Search: box searches the grid.
- The page-size selector offers 10, 25, 50 or All entries per page.
The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.
How to¶
Create a network mapping¶
- Go to Plan → Source To Target → Network Mappings.
- Select Create New in the grid toolbar. The Create new entry form opens.
- Enter the source network details: Source Cluster Name, Source Network Name, Source Vlan Id and Source Provider Name.
- Select the Target Cluster Name, then a Target Network Name from that cluster's networks. Enter the Target Vlan Id.
- Select Save, or select Cancel to close the form without saving.
For a cross-site migration (source site A to target site B), choose the target cluster at site B in Target Cluster Name, then pick the target network from that cluster's networks.
Change a mapping¶
- In the grid, select the mapping's row.
- Select Edit in the toolbar. The Edit entry form opens with the mapping's values.
- Change the fields you need, then select Save.
