Application Data Quality

Purpose

Application Data Quality is a Clarity Transform dashboard that scores every application record against the Mandatory and Suggested fields set under Settings → Field Management → Field Validations. Each application gets a quality score (how complete its record is, as a percentage) and a tier. Use it to see which applications need data entry work before migration planning. The on-screen subtitle reads: "Monitor and improve application data completeness and quality".

The dashboard is read-only. It shows the current position only, with no history or trend. The figures are loaded each time you open the page.

Where to find it

Discover → Data Quality → Application Data Quality. The page header is Application Data Quality Dashboard.

What you see

Cards

  • TOTAL APPLICATIONS: "100% of inventory".
  • QUALITY SCORE: "Overall data quality", shown to one decimal place with a bar.
  • COMPLETE: the number of applications with every Mandatory field filled in, with its share of the total ("N% of total"). Suggested fields can still be missing.
  • MISSING DATA: the number of applications missing critical data, with its share of the total ("N% of total").

Charts

  • Quality Distribution: a ring chart of the number of applications in each tier. All four tiers are always listed, including any with no applications:

    • Excellent (90-100%)
    • Good (70-89%)
    • Fair (50-69%)
    • Poor (0-49%)

Hover over a segment to see its count and its share of all applications.

  • Most Common Missing Fields: up to 10 fields, the most often empty first. Each line reads "N apps (P%)", where P is the share of all applications that have that field empty. Both Mandatory and Suggested fields are counted. When no application is missing a scored field, it reads "All applications have complete data!".

  • Field Completion Rates: a bar chart of the percentage of applications that have each scored field filled in. Mandatory fields come first as Mandatory Fields, then Suggested fields as Suggested Fields. The bars are the Application rows on Field Validations, so their number depends on how Field Validations is set up. If the chart reads "No field validation rules configured.", no Application fields are set as Mandatory or Suggested: set them on Field Validations first, or the other figures have nothing to measure.

Application Quality Details

A grid with one row per application, sorted by quality score, highest first:

  • Name
  • QualityScore: the score, with a bar.
  • QualityTier: Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor.
  • MissingMandatoryFields: the names of the Mandatory fields with no value, not a count. It reads "None" when all are filled in. A long list is cut short: hover over it to read it all.
  • MissingSuggestedFields: the names of the Suggested fields with no value, shown in the same way.
  • Environment
  • BusinessUnit

The grid toolbar has a back arrow, which returns to the previous page, and an export icon (Export CSV), which downloads the visible columns. The rows have no row actions and the names are not links.

Filters

The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size in your browser between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.

Messages

  • "Failed to load dashboard data.": a red banner at the top of the page when the figures could not be loaded. Reload the page.
  • "No data available": in Most Common Missing Fields when no application details were returned.

How to

Find the applications that need data entry

  1. Go to Discover → Data Quality → Application Data Quality.
  2. Read QUALITY SCORE and Quality Distribution for the overall position.
  3. Read Most Common Missing Fields to see where to focus.
  4. In Application Quality Details, sort by QualityScore to bring the lowest scores to the top, and read each application's MissingMandatoryFields and MissingSuggestedFields. To export the list, select the export icon (Export CSV).
  5. Fill in the missing fields on the Application grid. This changes the records.
  6. Open the dashboard again to see the new scores.

Change which fields are scored

The scored fields are the Mandatory and Suggested fields for applications on Field Validations. A row you add, change or remove there is reflected the next time you open this dashboard.
