Licenses¶
Purpose¶
The Licenses screen is where the Clarity Transform licence is viewed and applied. It covers the licence for the Clarity product itself, not the software licences of the estate being migrated. Licence costs for the applications in the estate are recorded per application in the Annual Licence Cost column on the Application CI type on Discover → CMDB, and Rationalise can measure by Annual licence cost. Looking here for the estate's licensing position will find nothing.
Where to find it¶
Settings → System → Licenses
Administrator access is required.
What you see¶
The screen has no page header. It shows a single grid.
Columns¶
- Issued To
- Issued On
- Number Of Days
- License Key
There is no status or expiry column: the expiry date is Issued On plus Number Of Days. No expiry banner was seen in the header.
Fields¶
The create form (Create new entry) has these fields, in this order:
- Issued To: text.
- Issued On: a date.
- Number Of Days: text.
- License Key: text.
The form footer has Cancel and Save.
Actions¶
The grid uses the standard Clarity grid toolbar: the add icon (Create New), the edit icon (Edit), Remove selected, Clear selection, Reload table data, Enable spreadsheet editing, Export CSV and Import CSV. Each row has a View Details row action (the eye icon). The screen has no other control for applying a key.
Filters¶
The grid has a Search: box and a filter row under each column.
The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.
How to¶
Check the current licence¶
- Go to Settings → System → Licenses.
- Read Issued On and Number Of Days. Together they give the expiry date.
Apply a new key¶
- Go to Settings → System → Licenses.
- Select the add icon (Create New). The Create new entry form opens.
- Enter Issued To, Issued On, Number Of Days and the License Key supplied by Towers Associates.
- Select Save.
Apply the new key before the current licence lapses. An expired licence may restrict the application for every user.
