Container Readiness

Purpose

Container Readiness is the Clarity Transform screen that assesses container namespaces for migration. The page header is Container Namespace Readiness, and its subtitle reads: "Assess container namespace migration complexity across OpenShift and Nutanix NKP clusters".

Unlike Migration Readiness for virtual machines, it rates each namespace by migration risk, readiness and score rather than by pass or fail checks.

Where to find it

Plan → Readiness → Container Readiness

What you see

Cards

  • TOTAL NAMESPACES ("Assessed for migration")
  • LOW RISK
  • MEDIUM RISK
  • HIGH RISK

Columns

The grid is titled Namespace Readiness Details and has these columns:

  • Namespace Name
  • Cluster Name
  • Platform
  • Migration Risk
  • Migration Readiness
  • Migration Score
  • Workload Count
  • Statefulset Count
  • Operator Count
  • Pvc Count
  • Custom Resource Count

The grid also has the hidden columns Migration Reasons, Daemonset Count, Network Policy Count, Route Ingress Count, Job Count, Cronjob Count, Integration, Id, Provider Id and the audit fields.

Fields

The create form (Create new entry) has these fields, in this order, all text. The edit form (Edit entry) has the same fields, filled in.

  • Namespace Name
  • Cluster Name
  • Platform
  • Migration Risk
  • Migration Readiness
  • Migration Score
  • Workload Count
  • Statefulset Count
  • Operator Count
  • Pvc Count
  • Custom Resource Count
  • Migration Reasons
  • Daemonset Count
  • Network Policy Count
  • Route Ingress Count
  • Job Count
  • Cronjob Count

Actions

The grid has the standard toolbar: Create New (the add icon), Edit, Remove selected, Clear selection, Reload table data, Enable spreadsheet editing, Export CSV and Import CSV. Create New opens the Create new entry form, and Edit opens the Edit entry form for the selected row.

Each row has a View Details row action (the eye icon).

Filters

  • Each column has a filter row, and a Search: box searches the grid.
  • The page-size selector offers 10, 25, 50 or All entries per page.

The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.

Values

  • Migration Readiness: Ready, Complex, Requires Planning.
  • Migration Risk: Low, Medium, High.
  • Platform: OpenShift, Kubernetes.

How to

Review the readiness of container namespaces

  1. Go to Plan → Readiness → Container Readiness.
  2. Read the LOW RISK, MEDIUM RISK and HIGH RISK counts.
  3. In the Namespace Readiness Details grid, work through each namespace's Migration Readiness value: Ready, Complex or Requires Planning. To narrow the list, filter the Migration Risk or Migration Readiness column.
