RAID Log

Purpose

The RAID Log is the Clarity Transform register for risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies. The on-screen subtitle reads: "Comprehensive tracking for Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies across migration events." Each entry has a Raid Type of Risk, Assumption, Issue or Dependency, so risks are recorded here as entries with a Raid Type of Risk. Entries also have an Event Name column, hidden by default.

Where to find it

Governance → RAID Log

What you see

Cards

  • TOTAL RAID ITEMS: shows an R:/A:/I:/D: breakdown.
  • HIGH/CRITICAL
  • RESOLVED/CLOSED
  • OVERDUE

Each card has a help (?) icon.

Charts

  • By RAID Type
  • By Status
  • By Category
  • By Priority

Columns

The grid is titled RAID Log Entries and has these columns:

  • Id
  • Category
  • Identified Date
  • Raised By
  • Raid Type
  • Name
  • Progress Percent
  • Description
  • Owner
  • Mitigation Strategy
  • Impact
  • Likelihood
  • Risk Score: a number that Clarity calculates as Impact × Likelihood as soon as both are chosen (for example High × Medium = 12), and recalculates when either changes. It is read-only on the form.
  • Due Date
  • Notes
  • Last Updated
  • Status
  • Contingency Plan
  • Resolved Date

Entries with a Status of Closed or Resolved stay in the grid alongside open entries.

Fields

The create form (Create new entry) shows four fields first. The edit form (Edit entry) has the same fields, filled in.

  • Name
  • Status: Open, In Progress, In Review, Mitigated, Resolved, Closed, Accepted or Workaround Available.
  • Progress Percent: a number. Help: "Completion percentage for tracking quick updates".
  • Notes

Select Show all RAID fields to see the rest:

  • Id
  • Category
  • Identified Date: a date.
  • Raised By
  • Raid Type: free text.
  • Description
  • Owner
  • Mitigation Strategy
  • Impact: 1 - Negligible, 2 - Low, 3 - Medium, 4 - High or 5 - Critical.
  • Likelihood: 1 - Very Low, 2 - Low, 3 - Medium, 4 - High, 5 - Very High or 5 - Critical. Both "5 -" values are offered.
  • Risk Score
  • Due Date: a date.
  • Contingency Plan
  • Resolved Date: a date.

These fields are hidden in the form, so they can't be set there: Last Updated, Resolution, Priority, Created On, Created By, Last Updated By, Event Name, Severity, Affected Systems, Workaround, Dependency Type, Dependent On, Assumption Validity, Validation Method, Environment and Ticket Reference. Apart from Last Updated, which is a visible grid column, they are hidden grid columns too.

No field is marked as required. The form footer has Cancel and Save.

Actions

The grid uses the standard Clarity toolbar:

  • Create New Governance Raid Log (the add icon): opens the Create new entry form.
  • The edit icon: edits the selected row.
  • Remove selected
  • Clear selection
  • Reload table data
  • Enable spreadsheet editing: switches the grid to in-grid editing.
  • Export CSV
  • Import CSV

Edit and remove act on the row you have selected in the grid. There is no edit icon on each row.

Each row has a View Details row action (the eye icon).

Filters

  • Each column has a filter row. Text columns offer Contains, Does not contain, Equals, Does not equal, Starts, Ends, Empty and Not empty. Number and date columns offer the equivalent comparisons, for example Greater than or Before.
  • A Search: box searches the grid.
  • The page-size selector offers 10, 25, 50 or All entries per page.

The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.

Values

These are the values observed in the grid data for this build. They are not necessarily the full list of allowed values.

  • Impact and Likelihood: 2 - Low, 3 - Medium, 4 - High, 5 - Critical
  • Category: Infrastructure, Data, Application, Planning, Resource, Network, Technical, Database, Performance, Backup, Process, Security
