User Roles¶
Purpose¶
The User Roles screen in Clarity Transform lists role assignments. Each row assigns one role to one user. Clarity uses Windows Integrated Authentication and has no sign-in form of its own, so users are identified by their Windows account.
Clarity has two roles: Administrator and User.
Where to find it¶
Settings → Identity & Access Management → User Roles
What you see¶
The screen has no page header. It shows a single grid with one row per user and role assignment.
Columns¶
- Role Name: Administrator or User. These are the allowed values listed for this field on the Settings → Field Management → Dropdown Lists screen.
- User Name: a Windows account, in the form
<DOMAIN>\<user>.
Actions¶
The grid uses the standard Clarity grid toolbar: Create New, Edit, Remove selected, Clear selection, Reload table data, Enable spreadsheet editing, Export CSV and Import CSV. Export is CSV only. Each row has a View Details row action (the eye icon).
Filters¶
Above the grid are a Search: box and a page-size selector (10, 25, 50 or All entries per page), and each column has its own filter.
The grid remembers its Search: text, column filters, sort order and page size between visits. If the grid shows fewer rows than you expect, clear the Search: box and the filter row.
Fields¶
The create form (Create new entry) and the edit form (Edit entry) have two fields:
- Role Name: a list with Administrator and User.
- User Name: text, the Windows account in the form
<DOMAIN>\<user>.
The form footer has Cancel and Save.
How to¶
Give a user a role¶
- Go to Settings → Identity & Access Management → User Roles.
- Select the add icon (Create New). The Create new entry form opens.
- Select Administrator or User in Role Name.
- Enter the user's Windows account in User Name.
